We are saddened to have lost our President, Cynthia Lai, who had shared the vision and mission with Joyous Life Music Foundation to raise public awareness on disease prevention. 

Cynthia Lai is also the Toronto City Councillor for Ward 23, Scarborough North. She is known to be very active in her ward and will surely be missed by her supporters. 

Cynthia immigrated to Canada from Hong Kong in the 1970s. She was an accomplished realtor, and a former TRRED president in 2003-2004. She was also involved in numerous fundraising and volunteering events. She was then elected in 2018 to represent Ward 23 Scarborough North, and was running the re-election in 2022, died just days before the election.

On behalf of Joyous Life Music Foundation, we extend our deepest sympathy and condolences to her family and loved ones. Cynthia will be remembered as a music lover and energetic President. Her family has asked for privacy during this difficult time.
